I had the pleasure of working with Gergely over the past 3.5 years, and he consistently stood out for his collaborative spirit and genuine team-first mindset. One project that showcased his capabilities was the Celery project, where he took on the substantial task of rewriting a legacy Job Server into a modern system. I worked with Gergely at Affinitext, where I was the lead developer, and he was a senior Python developer. I can say with confidence that he is one of the best engineers I have worked with. Gergely was responsible for our CI/CD pipelines and monitoring, and he was always the person we called when something went wrong in production. He also led the effort to clean up and modernize our old Python codebase, which was no small task. He solved some very difficult technical problems during his time with us — things like database incidents, complex migration issues, and performance problems in our backend. These are not easy situations, and he always handled them well. But what I appreciate most about Gergely is how he communicates. He can explain technical concepts simply to non-technical people, which is uncommon for a developer at his level. This made him very valuable not just on the engineering team, but across the whole company.
I worked with Gergely for three years at Affinitext. As a frontend developer, coordinating with the backend can sometimes mean a lot of shifting tasks back and forth, but with Gergely, our collaboration was always smooth sailing. We worked closely on a project that needed both tricky bug fixes and new features across the stack. He was great to partner with — we'd sit down, map out exactly what was needed, and agree on the best communication mechanisms and design patterns before diving in. Beyond his technical skills, Gergely is super proactive about team processes. He noticed our ticketing system needed an upgrade, so he went ahead and built better templates that made tracking and handing off issues much easier for everyone. He also pushed forward some really useful AI workflow improvements. He's a great teammate, writes solid code, and genuinely cares about making the whole team more efficient. I highly recommend him.

Gergely is a helpful and enthusiastic workmate who I liked to work with. He always provided details and scenarios for the manual testing so we always had enough information about the changes. Very communicative, could discuss about any issue effectively. He had ideas how to upgrade the work progress and implemented several methods which made our work easier. Fast and reliable person, demanding in his work, so easy to cooperate with him. Just some examples where he made outstanding work: checkin system refactoring, remaking Lucene/PyLucene and Celery based processes, frontend, design, logging fixes, setting up OpenReplay, PostgreSQL operations, admin interface modifications, SSO authentication, metadata handling and so on. I recommend him highly and hope to work with him again in the future.
